The all new YAMAHA Fuel Injection(FI) Blue Core engine of YAMAHA FZS FI uses advanced sensors and actuators to calculate and deliver the optimum amount of fuel to the engine – enhancing both performance and mileage.
New 149cc engine with a compact hemispherical combustion chamber designed to deliver better fuel economy and acceleration performance has been developed. It achieves a 14% improvement* in fuel economy. The bore x stroke dimensions are 57.3 mm×57.9 mm, making it a relatively small bore engine, and its intake/exhaust valve layout is designed to best match the hemispherical combustion chamber. In combination with the optimized intake and exhaust port shapes, this design increases combustion speed and helps achieve excellent combustion efficiency. The new engine further improves fuel efficiency and the feeling of acceleration while retaining the excellent performance qualities of the current FZ engine.

Rear Disc Brake along with bigger Front Disc brake helps in achieving improved braking performance by providing better stability and control at all speeds. Rear Disc brake augments more quality to the long legacy of FZ braking system.
Taking the FZ16 model’s “Triple Muscular Concept” (Muscular silhouette, Muscular Body parts and Muscular Chassis) as a working base, efforts were made to inherit and strengthen this “Macho Image” while also create an added impression of lightness and sportiness to the final design.
Front and rear suspensions that provides a comfortable ride. A Front fork with big 41 mm inner tubes and a 130mm of stroke (travel) is adopted. Optimally tuned for sufficient rigidity, spring rate and damping characteristics. It provides an excellent shock-absorbing performance and a good feeling of stability during braking. The rear suspension is a lightweight Monocross suspension unit that contributes to mass centralization and provides 120mm of wheel travel, which is tuned for good balance between the spring rate and damping force.
A midship muffler, with its advantages of mass concentration, weight reduction and shorter length, is adopted. The newly designed muffler protector further adds to the impression of sharpness.
140 mm wide rear radial tyre and perfectly mated suspension keeps the bike grounded even at high speeds and around sharp corners even on a wet road. The puncture resistant radial tyre can conquer potholes easily. The new spoke design adds sportiness to the way it moves.
The split seat offers equal comfort to both rider and the pillion. So you enjoy long rides more often. This comfort is enhanced by the slip resistance material that provides the pillion a good hold of the seat even during panic braking.
Easy to grasp Aluminium handle grab bars. The handle grab bars are positioned in such a way that its easier to grasp them for a more relaxed position while riding with a perfect palm grip.
The rectangular layout of the multi-function instrument panel houses tachometer, odometer, single trip meter, fuel level indicator and speedo. The instrument cluster also has a big green indicator which is the ECO lamp.
The high ground clearance of 160 mm ensures a convenient ride in all terrains. It ensures a smooth ride over the speed breakers and potholes.
